WHEN I STARTED HEMODIALYSIS TREATMENTS, I WAS TO GET TO BATHURST MORE THAN ONE HOUR ROAD FROM MY RESIDENCE. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME AND FOR THE PERSON WHO ACCOMPANIED ME. DUE TO THE MOVEMENT TIME AND THE DURATION OF EACH TREATMENT, WE HAVE TO GO A WHOLE DAY, SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK.

I had to reduce my work hours and was often exhausted. My spouse and family members had to rotate for my transportation. A year ago, a place in hemodialysis was finally released for me in Tracadie. It changed my life!

I am now going to treatment in just a few minutes and I am less tired. I can work in the morning and do my treatments in the afternoon. I lose fewer hours of work, so I have better income and much less traveling expenses. I can also do more activities with my family. Although there are still long-term fi nancial losses related to my condition, the impact is enormous.

It will be wonderful to add three treatment chairs in Tracadie to allow more patients to reduce their travel and increase their quality of life! I would just like to say to the donors that we need their help: thanks to your donations, we will not only survive, we will be able to live.
